We are BACK! Year Five. We keep getting Bigger and Better with each passing year. For Year 5...NEW Obstacles, NEW Challenges, SAME GREAT RACE (except for the new stuff...obviously)! Open Heats, Competitive Heat, The Savage Challenge (New-ish concept), and the option to run as a Team!

If you have scrolled this far, we have peaked your interest. Whether you are a seasoned veteran of races like Spartan, X Warrior, Mud Hero, Rugged Maniac...or a first timer...THIS is your race! Hard enough for the competitive racers, but easy enough that anyone, and everyone should try. Complete as many loops as you can! Join our "Brute Army"!

Open to all racers 14 Year's old or older, this heat will start at 9am sharp. You must complete 3 Loops of the Course in the fastest time to win this Heat. Penalties for failing Obstacles in this Heat will be given. Prizes for top 3 Men and Women in this Heat.
We want you to come up with a Team of 5. We want you to start at 11am, and complete 3 Loops. We want you to complete EVERY Obstacle on the course together (at least one team member will complete each obstacle...and you can help each other!). We will give the first team to complete the 3 Loops...a FREE TEAM RACE in the 2028 Brute to defend their title!
Open Heats will be running throughout the day. You can do 1, 2, or 3 Loops! The more Loops you do, the more Obstacles you will get to experience. There are NO Penalties for not completing an Obstacle, but we also strongly encourage you to try them all! All Open Heat participants will receive a Finishers Medal, and their Free Swag once they have completed at least one Loop.
BLACK GOLD BRUTE...THE "SAVAGE CHALLENGE"
"Savage": Going beyond the normal scope of the given situation.
Racers start at 9am. Racers run the first 3 Loops as normal (Penalties for any failed Obstacle). After 3 Loops, Racers continue on to complete 3 more Loops...OR as many as they can!!! So far, the record is 6 Loops. We want to have someone push the course to new limits, and become our Ultimate Brute, our Ultimate Savage.
The "Savage Challenge" is timed!!! You have 6 hours to complete this challenge. At 2pm, a warning siren will go off letting the Racers know they only have one hour remaining. At 3pm a final siren will go off, signalling the end of the journey. Who ever has the most Loops after 6 hours is the Winner!

Absolutely. No Problem. Yup.
The skill level we have seen over the years is quite vast. Fresh off the couch, or a seasoned veteran...everyone can do this race!
40+ and counting if you do all three Loops. Each loop has 10 to 15 Obstacles on it! Jump over, crawl under, hang, swing, balance, climb, carry...ya, there is a few things to do. We also have a few obstacles completely based on chance, which have been a huge success!
Because we are the ultimate experience and the greatest evolution in OCR...
Seriously though, do them all!
We feel we are a great "first time" race, and yet challenging enough for the elite OCR community to still enjoy.
We do have our perks...free parking, free key drop (your vehicle is literally at the start line, so bags can stay in your cars), Vendors Alley, live DJ, and best of all....LEAST EXPENSIVE OCR IN ALBERTA!

We are not changing the pay structure for the fifth year in a row! $30 for kids 5-12 years old (they must run with a Registered Adult/Parent/Sibling/Friend older than 13), $40 for 13-17 years old, and $50 for 18+.
Competitive heat is open to all registrants 14 years old and older at $50. Longer distance, and penalties for missed/failed Obstacles. This will again be the first heat of the day.
"SAVAGE" CHALLENGE...

Just because you are putting yourself through more torture (fun times) doesn't give us the right to charge you more.
TEAM CHALLENGE...The pay structure for this year's Teams will be based on a "per team basis". Meaning, if you are 5 adults, it will be a different price point than if you are a team with younger children in it. E-Mail us for the breakdown.
VERY IMPORTANT....you are paying to complete the whole course, whether you "choose" to do so or not!
You all start with one 4.33km Loop. There will be "Obstacle Stations" with 3 Obstacles set up. One Obstacle per Loop that you do. There will also be Obstacles you do every Loop. Complete all 3 Loops, you will be doing somewhere in the area of 40 Obstacles. If you are in the "Open Heats", you can do one Loop, two Loops, or all three. So long as you complete one Loop, the swag and medals will be waiting at the finish line!
YES!!!! We would love to have at least 2 volunteers at every Obstacle Station, so the more the merrier! If you volunteer, and like what you see, we will give you a FREE RACE for 2028!
